My story

A veteran of more than 20 years as a Division I college baseball head
coach, Steve Trimper has seen it all during his career. From having to sod a field in New York City to give his team a place to practice and play while coaching at Manhattan, to leading the Stetson Hatters onto the field rated as the best in the nation in 2018, Trimper has always been about doing the work to help his student-athletes become the best they can be.
A Coach of the Year selection in three different conferences, Trimper led
his Manhattan team for seven seasons, earning Coach of the Year honors and a program record for single season victories. He took over a historically successful program in Maine in 2006, guiding the Black Bears to 3 America East titles and 2 berths to the NCAA Tournament. He was named Coach of the Year in 2013.
In 2017, Trimper took over the Stetson Baseball program and in just his
second season, led the Hatters to their best season in program history. The 2018 Stetson team set a school record with 18 consecutive victories on the way to tying the program mark with 48 wins and a top 10 final national ranking. The Hatters hosted an NCAA Regional in DeLand for the first time, winning and advancing to the first NCAA Super Regional in school history.
In addition to his coaching career, Trimper is a much sought out
motivational speaker who is equally at home addressing coaches and corporate executives. He and his wife Lisa have twin daughters, Ally and Morgan, who are members of the women’s hockey team at the University of Maine.
